One Aphasia Action is a set of small, actionable activities you can do from home that will help you retain speech progress.
When was the last time you did a word search? Unless the answer is “this morning,” that’s the task on your plate today. Okay, it doesn’t have to be a word search. It can be any puzzle—verbal or otherwise—that is going to stretch your brain. Even better, do this puzzle with a friend or family member to build conversation into the activity.
There are plenty of free apps and online sites for word searches, crossword puzzles, mazes, rebuses, or even Sudoku. Give your brain a good, ten-minute workout by jumping into a puzzle.
You can find all of the One Aphasia Action activities on this list. This works best if you start on Day 1 and work at your own pace, even if you’re finding this project long after it has started. Try every activity, even if you only do it once. Keep doing the activities you like, repeating them the next day along with the new activity, and drop the ones that don’t work for you.
