One Aphasia Action is a set of small, actionable activities you can do from home that will help you retain speech progress.
Maybe we can’t leave home at the moment, but we can always practice our speech by planning a trip. Choose a place that you’ve always wanted to visit. Look up pictures on the Internet, or use Tripadvisor to create a list of sites you’d like to see. If you have time today, stick with this and write the alphabet down the left side of a piece of paper, finding one element of this place for each letter. For instance, if the place you want to go to is New York, you may have the Empire State Building for “E” or subway ride for “S.” Enjoy planning your trip, even if you can’t travel right now.
You can find all of the One Aphasia Action activities on this list. This works best if you start on Day 1 and work at your own pace, even if you’re finding this project long after it has started. Try every activity, even if you only do it once. Keep doing the activities you like, repeating them the next day along with the new activity, and drop the ones that don’t work for you.
